Hares of Hampshire Art Selection Event

Businesses from across Hampshire who have sponsored giant Hare Sculptures for the upcoming Hares of Hampshire Art Trail,  gathered at Kimbridge Barn in Romsey to pick the design for their Hares.

This exciting event was hosted by actors Sarah Parish & James Murray (founders of The Murray Parish Trust) and the Hares of Hampshire Team.

Hares of Hampshire is a spectacular public art trail coming to the cities of Southampton and Winchester this Summer, a Wild in Art event to support the work of local charity The Murray Parish Trust.

Over 160 artists submitted some incredbile designs, making it a very difficult job for the Hare Sponsors to choose their favourite. We would like to say a huge thank you to all artists who submitted their designs.

During the evening guests heard speeches from; Sarah Parish, (co-founder of The Murray Parish Trust), Tim Connor from Ahmad Tea, (Presenting Partners of the Hares of Hampshire Art Trail) and Charlie Langhorne (pictured left) from Wild in Art. Our Hero Hare designed by Jenny Leonard was on display along with a gorgeous Leveret painted by students in Winchester.

Musical entertainment was provided by the wonderful string quartet, CordElectra and Sarah Harvey from Wild in Art was also on hand to provide expert advice to sponsors choosing their designs. Artists have been told over the weekend if they have been succesful and commisioned for the trail and will start painting their Hares over the next couple of months. We can’t wait to see them!
